It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettye Platt of Lufkin, Texas, born in Haslam, Texas, who passed away on February 10, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dave Baker and Leila Hinson Baker; her stepmother Ada Collins Baker; and her spouse K. C. Platt. She is survived by: her children, Diane Morton of Terrell, Steve Platt of Moscow and Jill; her son-in-law Mike Carswell of Lufkin; her grandchildren, Stephen J. Morton III, Julie Clifton, Mark, Patrick Day, Leslie Ball and Kris; her great grandchildren, Gracie, Natalie, Morgan, Taylor, Parker, Brett, Luke and Camille; her daughter Pam Anderson Taylor; her niece Lela Parrish of Beaumont; her pet Abigail; her sons-in-law, Alan Day and Stephen Morton; her siblings, Georgia, Jimmie, Billie, Jackie, Flickie, Punkie, Dottie, W. C. and Dave; her stepsiblings, Lillian of Linnie, W. F., Arva and Ava; and her friends, Mary Reeves, Ellen Miller, Marsha Eppley, Morgan McKay, Joann Donahoe, Neva Brown and Kevin Terry.
