Janie Lou Nash Obituary

Janie Lou Nash peacefully departed this life on February 17, 2024 at the age of 77. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

With a camera always in hand, Janie captured the world through her lens, freezing moments in time that will be treasured for generations to come. Her passion for pictures and her collection of picture albums was matched only by her zest for laughter. Those who knew Janie knew that she had a playful sense of humor and loved to bring smiles to the faces of those around her. Her quick wit and infectious laughter could brighten even the darkest of days, and her jokes will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of hearing.

One of Janie's favorite colors was yellow, a hue that reflected her sunny disposition and optimistic outlook on life. Whether it was in the flowers she planted, the décor in her home, or the clothes she wore, yellow was a constant reminder of her vibrant personality and zest for life. Janie was a member of Union Road Church of Christ.

Janie will be deeply missed by her loving family, including her sons, Jerry Nash of Livingston and Chris and Tiffany Nash of Diboll; daughters, Karen Bryan of Lufkin, Pamela Richardson and Philip of Pollok and Melissa Castillo and Aurelio of Lufkin; grandchildren, Brandon Bryan, Jeffrey Bryan, Derek Dolan, Brittany Falkner, Crystal Ortega, Josh Castillo, Keegan Nash and Ava Nash; along with several great-grandchildren.

Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nash; infant sons, Arvel Ray and Kevin Dewayne; and grandson, Justin Bryan.

A celebration of Janie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2024 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of the love and laughter she brought into their lives. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Nash, Joshua Castillo, Chris Nash, Keegan Nash, Jeffrey Bryan and Rob Falkner.

The family would like to thank Diboll Nursing Home and Affinity Hospice for the exceptional care and attention they gave to Janie as she was preparing to go to her eternal home.

Janie's love for the Lord, her zest for life, and her devotion to her family will continue to inspire us all. We know heaven is a little bit sweeter and brighter now that she is there.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Janie was also survived by several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nash; infant Sons, Arvel Ray and Kevin Dewayne; grandson, Justin Bryan; and parents, Lula (Oliver) and Ethel Vaughn.
