He was predeceased by: his father Reginald Harold Kirkes; his wife Martha Kirkes; and his mother Helen Kirkes (Rogers). He is survived by: his children, Rexann "Annie" Kirkes of Lufkin and Joe Dale Kirkes (Jessica) of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Rusty Edmondson (Joanne), Misty Edmondson, Michael Kirkes and Darion Kirkland (Matt); and his siblings, Ruth Kelly (Clutch), Darla Daniels (CM) and Gary Kirkes (Linda). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
