Katherine Vestal Bentley Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Katherine Vestal Bentley (Lufkin, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 28, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel Ellen Quarles (Cooper) and Hugh Vestal; her husband George Bentley; her siblings, Bobby Vestal of Lonnie Vestal, L. B and Hazel Morehead; and her great grandchild Gemma Bentley.

She is survived by: her children, Janice (Bobby Oates), Billy Bentley of Central, Eddie (Faith Bentley) and Jennifer (Jason Holder); her brother Donald; her sisters-in-law, Linda Vestal of Lufkin and Yvonne Vestal of Hull; her grandchildren, Dennis Oates (Stuart) of Central, Tracy Oates (Shanda) of Central, Keith Robertson (Zach Bentley) of Central, Caleb Bentley (Christopher) of Lufkin, Lindsey Bentley (Candy) of San Augustine and Sandy Kong (Caylon Bentley) of Lufkin; her great grandchildren, Lauren Oates (Lindsay Oates) of Fargo, Colby (Ryleigh Oates) of Lufkin, Railey (Cotye Lowrie) of Central, Logan (Cortney Bentley) of Wells, Wyatt Bentley (Piper Bentley) of San Augustine, Isaac Bentley (Samuel Nichols) of Central, Andrew Robertson (Ayden Bentley) of Central, Reznor Bentley (Karson Bentley) of Lufkin and Kenslee Bentley (Brody Kong) of Lufkin; and her great great grandchildren, Josie Modisette, Warren Lowrie of Central and Blaire Oates of Lufkin.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Gipson Funeral Home (1515 S Chestnut St, Lufkin, TX 75901). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice in The Pines, 1504 West Frank St, Lufkin, TX 75904.
