She was predeceased by : her parents, Seth Lightsey and Mary Lightsey; her former life partner William Boyd Bowling; her husband Billy P. Choate; and her daughter-in-law Debbie Bowling.

She is survived by : her granddaughter Adrianne Bowling; and her children, Bill Bowling of Lufkin, Cathy Halovanic of Dallas, Brian Bowling of Lufkin and John Bowling (Arnold Alvarez). She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carroway Funeral Home (2704 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel (2704 S John Redditt Dr, Lufkin, TX 75904).
