She was predeceased by : her spouse Francis W. Mindyas; her parents, Joseph Tavares and Antonetta Tavares (Benevides); and her siblings, Manuel Tavares, James Tavares, Mary Lamarca, Rose Marshall, Julia Travassoa and Irene Frey.

She is survived by : her significant other Cafeteria; her children, Janice Ann Frizzell of Manchaca, TX and Andrew John Mindyas of Columbia, TN; and her cousins, Albert and Evelyn Benevides. She is also survived by five grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
