It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Don Garland Scott of Mansfield, Texas, born in Vernon, Texas, who passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his former life partner Margie Morris Scott. He is survived by : his wife Gayle Wright Scott; his daughter Angela Scott Geisendorff (Ed Geisendorff); his grandsons, Brandon Geisendorff and Daniel "Donnie" Geisendorff; his sister Leigh Ann Scott Clifford (Ed Clifford); his niece Maggie Clifford Hendrix (Clayton Hendrix); his great-nephews, Jason Foura (Ali Foura) and Hayden Crossland; his great-niece Mattie Hill; his nephews, James Clifford and Trey Morris (Jerome); his great-niece Thalia Morris; his great-nephew Kalon Morris; and his stepchildren, Jerry Wright, Larry Wright and Debbie Martin. He is also survived by spouses; 15 step-grand children and their spouses; and 20 step-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Blessing Funeral Home (401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX 76063). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Blessing Colonial Chapel (401 Elm St, Mansfield, TX 76063). A committal service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the DFW Natl Cemetery. Prior to COVID-19, he went to the campus four days per week, and after COVID-19, he continued serving in the ministry by meeting remotely, on Zoom.
