He was predeceased by: his parents, James Chatham and Lena Young Chatham; and his siblings, James Chatham, Jr., Latson Chatham, Dillard Chatham, Sr., Luther Keeling, Oscar Smith, Christine Norris (Curley) and Cora Craig.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Woods Chatham of Marquez, TX; and his children, Ricky Chatham of Houston, TX, George Wilson of Crofton, Ernest Wilson of Huntsville, TX, Vannessa Jackson of Tomball, TX, Nick Porch of Crockett, TX, Tanya Martin of Marquez, TX, Jason Woods of Michigan and Vanessa Stokes of Richmond, TX. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
