With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Javier Portales in McAllen, Texas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Javier left this world on October 6, 2025 at the age of 57, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He is survived by: his parents, Antero Portales and Melba Lozano; his wife Grace Irene Garza; and his children, Abram Mathias Portales, Aleida Nethania Portales and Alan Javier Portales.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Aurora Funeral Home (706 W Sam Houston Blvd, Pharr, TX 78577). A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Jude Catholic Church (505 S Ironwood St, Pharr, TX 78577). A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Palm Valley Memorial Gardens (4607 N Sugar Rd, Pharr, TX 78577).
