It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margarita Lopez of McAllen, Texas, who passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Telesforo Hernandez and Juanita Perez; her husband Anastacio Lopez; her daughter Susana Lopez; and her son-in-law Javier Rodriguez.
She is survived by: her children, Elia Lopez, Elma Rodriguez, Anastacio Lopez, Jr. (Amada), Ricardo Lopez (Maria), Ruben Lopez (Irma Elizabeth), Ramiro Lopez (Norma) and Margarita Lopez (Lazaro Cuellar); and her sisters, Flora A. Garcia and Yolanda Cano. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rivera Funeral Home (1901 Pecan Blvd, McAllen, TX 78501). A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Rivera Funeral Home - McAllen (1901 Pecan Blvd, McAllen, TX 78501). A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Valley Memorial Gardens (3605 N Taylor Rd, Mission, TX 78572).
