He was predeceased by : his father Joe Dan Cawthon. He is survived by : his mother Judy Kay Devoll; his wife Paulette Cawthon; his siblings, Randy Cawthon and Danna Kent (Curtis); his sons, Kris Cawthon (Brittany), Josh Cawthon (Laine) and Zach Cawthon (Mallory); and his stepchildren, Richard Payne (Stephanie) and Chelsea Vander Tuig (Nick).

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:30 AM. A graveside service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Pecan Grove Cemetery (1701 S McDonald St, McKinney, TX 75069). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 11:30 PM to 11:00 AM at the Brookhaven Church (6101 Stacy Rd, McKinney, TX 75070).
