He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Wesley and Katie Russell Blackwell; and his wife Pamela Jo Blackwell. He is survived by: his daughters, Katie Brand (Jeremy) of Vivian and Kim Wilburn (Larry) of Bullard, Texas; his siblings, David Blackwell (Tonya), Mike Blackwell and Sandra Morris (John); and his grandchildren, Kamden "Kam" Brand, Judson Brand, Kase Wilburn, Emily Wilburn and Garrett Wilburn.
