Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Horace leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Lafayette Wood and Ellen Margarene Wood (Mixon); and his brothers, Roy Dean Wood and Jimmy Lee Wood. He is survived by: his children, Michael Wayne Wood of Menard, Texas, Susan Denise Garrett (Rocky) of Menard and Dava Gail Wood of Menard, Texas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church-Menard (301 Tipton St, Menard, TX 76859).
Memorial contributions in memory of Horace Weldon "H.W." Wood may be made to the Ft. San Saba Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund and/or the First Baptist Church Scholarship Fund.
