He is survived by: his wife Alma Garza; his children, Analicia Garza (Danny), Alfonso Garza Jr. (Amanda) and Alex Garza; his siblings, Anita (Gregory), Rolando (Betsie), Joel (Alma), Maggie (Ernest), Nina (Roy), Irene (Cesar), Tony, Freddie and Joe (Isela); and his in-laws, Concha and Dora. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Mercedes (236 S Ohio Ave, Mercedes, TX 78570). A rosary was held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (920 Anaquitas St, Mercedes, TX 78570). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at the Mercedes Memorial Restlawn Cemetery (301 Jose M Cantu Rd, Mercedes, TX 78570-4706).
