He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Byrd (Shorty) and Sarah Hassey Byrd; his daughter Cindy Hamner; and his sisters, Merle Holloway, Daphna Whatley and Jean Irvin.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Byrd (Gregory); his daughters, Suzanne Lovelace (Alan) and Kathrine James (Dana); his nephew Rusty Holloway (Sharla); his brother Teddy Byrd (Merry); his grandchildren, Cortnee Bryant (Chris Carns), Jera Buton (Jacob), Jacy Riggan (Matt) and Abby Doan; his great grandchildren, Darbi Doan (Luke Perry), Seth Bryant, Madison Doan, Carah Bryant, Hadley Bunton and Barrett Bunton; his great great grandchild Londyn Perry; and his sisters, Sue Jones and Joan Neil.
