Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Lila Cox of Merkel, Texas, born in Sweetwater, Texas, who passed away at the age of 86, on August 20, 2021. She was predeceased by : her parents, Storey Wright Bonner and Fannie Rogers Bonner (Nunn); her husband Nowlin "Corky" Cox; and her siblings, Jo Ann Leonard (Maxie), Margaret Willis (Dallas), Earl Bonner, Royce Bonner and Clyde Bonner (Geri).
She is survived by : her children, Deral Cox (Tammy) of China Springs, TX, David Cox (Beth) of Lubbock, Del Van Cox (Chris) of Abilene and Dana Goad (Tim) of New Braunfels; her sister Reba Renfro of Arlington; her sisters-in-law, Bobbi Bonner of Runge, TX and Phyllis Bonner of Abilene; and her grandchildren, Sheena Cox, Tyrel Cox, Sonya Vasquez, Megan Tucker (Westin), Jim Cox (Kaila), Molly Arellano (Anthony), Amy Bennett (Adam), Chris Goad, Nathalie Woodruff (Chad), Emily, Clay and Sarah Cox.
In lieu of flowers, Lila's wishes were for donations to be made to Fortnightly Study Club, Wreaths Across America, or the Merkel Museum.
