He is survived by: his wife Betty Epperson; his sons, Marcus (Jocelyn), Jeffrey, Sr. of Long Beach, California. and Haywood; his grandchildren, Morgan, Sydney, Jeffrey, Jr. (JJ) and Jaden; his brothers, Joe Alvin and Bobby (Juanita); his aunt Pattie Wheeler-Newsome; his cousins, Rosalind Walton-Russell, Nelvin Murphy and Gloria Murphy-Mayes; and his siblings' children, Marcie Sharper-Duffey (Melvin), Marsha Epperson-Duffey (Gregory), Joe Epperson, Jr., Anthony and Robert Epperson. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
He was a giving person who gave to family, charity, and non-profit organizations, such as the Addie E. McFarland Foundation, Long Beach Poly Football Team, and Helping Young People Excel (HYPE).
