In loving memory of James Lee Clayton of Mineola, Texas, who departed this world on October 12, 2025 at the age of 81. James leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Franklin and Essie Earline Clayton (Cross); and his brother Malcolm Franklin Clayton Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Clayton; his children, Denise Whitten (David) of Mineola, Texas and Danny Clayton (Tena) of Greenwood, Louisiana; his siblings, Bill Clayton of Laneville, Texas and Lajuan Tubbs of Rockwall, Texas; his grandchildren, Danielle Landry (Joe) of Spring and Jacob Clayton (Sarah) of Sandwich; and his great grandchildren, Meredith and Henry Landry. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home (206 W South St, Lindale, TX 75771). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of East Texas.
