He was predeceased by: his parents, Hershel Rushing and Mattie Horrell Rushing; and his brothers, Paul, Larry and Terry Rushing.
He is survived by: his wife Nita Rushing; his children, Tim (Mercy), Kim Galyean (Bill) and Jill Hudson (Dan); his grandchildren, April Rushing, Barb Pritchett, Megan Smith (Brady Smith), Bray Rushing, Morgan Hearn (Doug) and Lane Hudson; and his great grandchildren, T. J., Val, Lilly, John Moreland, Cooper, Madi, Shorty, Maggie Smith and Emmie Hearn.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel - Mineola (5320 TX-37, Mineola, TX 75773). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mineola Historical Museum.
