He was predeceased by: his father Claude Mathews; his brother Larry Mathews; and his nephew Dylan Cagle. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Mathews of Mineola; his mother Chlota Lee Mathews of Mineola; and his sisters, Cindy Hawkins (Doug) of Mineola and Vickie Lynn Mathews of Mineola.
