As Ernestina Gutierrez departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Ernestina Gutierrez may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Ernestina Gutierrez leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Inosencio Gutierrez and Maurisia Alonzo; her son Jose Luis Ponce; and her siblings, Ermelinda Cantu, Elida Cord, Ema Gonzalez and Guadalupe Gutierrez.
She is survived by: her children, Juan Peña Gutierrez, Maria Martina Duran and America Ponce; and her brother Humberto Gutierrez. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Rivera Funeral Home (1901 Pecan Blvd, McAllen, TX 78501). A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Piedad Cemetery (1801 Wichita Ave, McAllen, TX 78501).
