With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melton Athie Hargrove of Montague, Texas, born in Dallas, Texas, who passed away on November 15, 2021 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Melton Athie Hargrove to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Athie Hargrove and Eleanor Hargrove; his former life partner Rita Eddy Hargrove; his children, Steve Wayne Hargrove and Regina Ann Prince; his grandson Kyle Adam Childers; and his siblings, Georgia Schulte, Robert Hargrove and Danny Hargrove.

He is survived by : his wife Cholly Hargrove of Montague; his daughters, Elizabeth Childers (Danny) of Bowie and Rebecca Horton (Dennis) of Stoneburg; his grandchildren, Jason Prince, Rev. Jacob Prince, Mark Childers, Mike Childers, Justin Childers, Noah Hargrove, Krystal Villanueva, Shelby Horton and Sarah Horton; and his brother Tharon Hargrove (Linda). He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the building fund at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bowie.
