He was predeceased by: his parents, Anastacio Mendez and Juana Zaldivar; his wife Aurora Rubi Mendez; his siblings, Francisca Mendez Acevedo, Guadalupe Mendez and Martin Mendez; and his daughter Maria Cristina Mendez.
He is survived by: his brothers, Manuel and Florencio Mendez; and his sons, Alberto, Julio Jr., Geraldo Mendez and Alejandro Torres. He is also survived by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cole Funeral Home Inc. (1113 W 5th St, McGregor, TX 76657). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Eugene Catholic Church (207 N Johnson Dr, McGregor, TX 76657).
