We are sad to announce that on May 29, 2025, at the age of 80, Maria Garcia of Mount Pleasant, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Maria's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Maria has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her son Juan Mercado; and her husband Benito Garcia. She is survived by: her children, Guadalupe Martinez (Raymundo), Maribel Briones (Claro), Rosio Salinas (Saul) and Benito Garcia Jr. (Heidi); and her daughter-in-law Consuelo Mercado. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, and her 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Curry - Welborn Funeral Home (2256 N Edwards Ave, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455). A Mass was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Michaels Catholic Church (1403 E 1st St, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455). A burial was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at the Nevill's Chapel Cemetery (113 Co Rd 3210, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455).
