She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam H. McDonald Sr. and Bessie T. Blazek McDonald; her husband Robert Lys; her son Michael Lys; her brother Sam H. McDonald Jr.; her sister-in-law Dorothy; her sister Francis Hill; and her brother-in-law Charles.
She is survived by: her son Robert Lys, Jr. (Sandra); her grandchildren, Melissa Lys Flourney (Stephen), Kathryn Lys Mikulenka (Eric), Rev. Jonathan E. Lys (Lauren), Michael L. Lys (Allycenn), Marcus L. Lys (Alexandra) and Sandie Lys; her great grandchildren, Wilmarie Elliott-Lys, Jonah Lys and Lucas Lys; and her caregivers, Patrice Walther and Tomeka Calvin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Nobles Funeral Chapel (402 Blackshear St, Navasota, TX 77868). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Oakland Cemetery (801 6th St, Navasota, TX 77868).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First United Methodist Church, Navasota or your local responders.
