He is survived by : his wife Hanane Porter; his children, John Porter Jr. (Christy) of Beaumont, Michael Porter (Kristin) of Lumberton, Josh Porter (Deidra) of Silsbee and Amber Everett (Jason) of Lumberton; his stepson Michael Lovett Jr. of Nederland; his sister Linda Stewart (Bill) of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Ethan Porter, Avery Porter, Maycie Talley-Porter, Connor Porter, Addison Everett, Jewel Everett and Victoria Everett; and his stepgrandchildren, Tre Flores, Corey Flores, Caitlyn Alfaro, BethAshleigh Lovett, Kylie Lovett, Scarlet Lovett and Jackson Lovett. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.

A rosary was held on Tuesday, April 9th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park (4955 Pine St, Beaumont, TX 77703). Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 9th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (211 Hardy Ave, Nederland, TX 77627).
