She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Willie J. Matthews, Sr., Gladys Thompson Matthews, Leo Cole and Nellice V. Cole; and her brother Shon Dwayne Matthews.
She is survived by: her parents, Vergie Cole Matthews of New Boston, Texas and Willie J. Matthews, Jr.; her sister Cortney Ashton Matthews of New Boston, Texas; her sister-in-law Jennifer Matthews of Fouke, Arkansas; and her sibling's children, Nicole Green and Derek Matthews. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Victory Holiness Tabernacle (906 TX-98, New Boston, TX 75570). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
