She was predeceased by: her parents, Hilmar Klein and Elenora Klein; her grandchildren, Julia Harst and Eric Tuch; her great grandchild Payton Smith; and her daughter-in-law Pam Witt Schmid.

She is survived by: her husband James Schmid; her children, Patricia (James Tuch), Ronald (Lori Schmid), Jerry Schmid (Angela Edwards), Katherine (Tom Harst) and Darryl (Gina Schmid); and her sisters, Bernice Klein Ellis of Greenville and June Klein Kaiser (Ernie Kaiser) of Center Point. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
