With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Hermila R Munoz of Odessa, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 30, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Oscar Muñoz; her parents, Juan Rodriguez Dominguez and Isabel Soto Orona; and her sons, Valentin and Simeon Muñoz.
She is survived by: her children, Javier Muñoz (Irene) of El Paso, TX, Lucy Spencer of San Jose, CA, Dr. Oscar Muñoz (Veronica) of Ojinaga, MX, Francisca Sanchez (Jesus) of Las Cruces, NM, Luis Muñoz (Lupita) of Odessa, TX, Vicente Muñoz (Vilma) of Odessa, TX, Arqui Muñoz (Yamilca) of Horizon City, TX, Marco Muñoz (Mary) of Odessa, TX and Trinidad Muñoz of Odessa, TX; and her siblings, Refugio "Cuca" Carrera of Odessa, TX, Virginia "Vique" DeAnda of Presidio, TX and Carlos Rodriguez of El Paso, TX.. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and at 8:00 PM at the Acres West Funeral Chapel (8115 W University Blvd, Odessa, TX 79764). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (2633 Conover Ave, Odessa, TX 79763). A burial will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
