He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gilliland and LaRue Gilliland; his brother Larry; and his grandson David Burns. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his siblings, Bobby Gilliland and Ann Wadley; and his children, James IV (Angela), Julia (Tony), Jean Ann and Jennifer (Doug). He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, his 5 great grandchildren, nieces, and nephew.
