Wendell L. Flanders Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Wendell L. Flanders of Olney, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 21, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Flanders and Reta Flanders (Land); his former wife Patricia Ballard; his wife Lillie R. Jones (Gathings); his siblings, Bruce Flanders, Leonard Flanders and Mildred Young; his brother-in-law Owen Young; his son-in-law Billy Don Story; and his grandson Michael Flanders Enloe.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Scott Flanders (Kim) of Mesa, Susan Wilson (George) of Craig, Sally Peters (Barry) of Fort Collins, Sharyn Enloe (Clovis) of Overton, Jimmie Jones (Tina) of Olney, Keith Jones (Cathy) of Olney, Ray Jones of Megargel, Roy Jones (Denise) of Olney, Patricia Story of Olney, Fay Walters (Robert) of Arlington, Kim Williams (Glenn) of Olney and Pam Bowling of Olney; and his sister Maudine Fornes (Tim) of Evansville, Indiana.. He is also survived by his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home (300 S Avenue M, Olney, TX 76374). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Southside Baptist Church (1006 Mockingbird Ln, Olney, TX 76374). A burial will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Restland Cemetery South Loop.
