He was predeceased by : his parents, Augustine Rivas and Erminia Garcia Alvarado; his former life partner Mary Garcia Rivas; and his grandson Jonathan Miguel Rivas. He is survived by : his wife Marian of Anson; his siblings, Frances Landrum (Luis) of Plainview, Gabriel Rivas (Pauline) of Canyon and Rudy Rivas (Martha) of Waco; his children, Andy Rivas of Paducah, Nick Rivas (Cathy) of Willis, Melissa-Lois Lane Vizcaino (Jaime-Superman) of Abilene, Dorian LeCroy (Adrien Briley) of Wichita Falls, Carlos Garcia (Michelle) of Abilene and Feliverta Rivas of Lubbock; his stepchildren, Melissa Victoria Ortega of Anson and Joe Ortega Jr. (Melissa) of Arlington; and his close friend Worth Durham. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
