He was predeceased by : his parents, James R. Swinney and Bessie Garner Swinney; and his siblings, Robert Swinney and Garnett Grisham. He is survived by : his wife Brenda Kennedy; his children, William A. Swinney, Jr. (Chip), David Bruce Swinney, Scott Swinney (Patty), Brett James Swinney (Debbie), Karla Swinney Keahey (Robert), Kathleen Swinney Parker (Brad) and Scarlett Lee Parker Swinney; and his stepsons, Jeff Kennedy (Brittney) and Scott Kennedy (Karen). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
