Emma left this world on December 5, 2025 at the age of 73, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Telesforo Rivas and Pola Gatica; her husband Oscar Garcia; and her siblings, Betty Sampogna, Alice Rivas and Adam Rivas.
She is survived by: her children, Christina Lopez (Sid) of Palacios, Lisa Suniga (Martin) of Victoria, Ephran Longoria (Rachel) of Bay City, Gabriel Longoria (Melanie) of Palacios and Michael Longoria of Palacios; and her siblings, Esther Rivas, Janie Rivas of Houston, Minerva Rivas, Eva Luna of Palacios and Daniel Rivas of Bay City. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
A burial was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Palacios Cemetery.
