She was predeceased by : her parents, Placido Chavez and Higina Chavez; her husband Arturo Garcia; her siblings, Isabel Salazar, Jacinto Chavez, Leocarda Peña, Alfonso Chavez, Placido Chavez Jr., Elida Chavez, Richard Chavez, Maria Garcia and Rudy Chavez; and her grandson Joshua Hebel.
She is survived by : her daughter Melissa Montalvo (Leo) of Palacios; her grandchildren, Jacob, Seth Quintanilla of Palacios, Gabriel Montalvo of Palacios and Mariah Montalvo of Wharton; her great grandchild Rylan Quintanilla of El Campo; and her siblings, Roy Chavez (Janie), Ralph Chavez of Wharton, Beatrice Gomez (Sammy) of Boling and Ester Chavez of Boling. She is also survived by many beautiful nieces and nephews.
