It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nina Minton of Palestine, Texas, born in Hamilton, Texas, who passed away on August 16, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Nina shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Nina farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Weaver and Lena Weaver (J. D. Minton, Jr.); her daughter Donna Knowles; and her sister Marcie Cox. She is survived by: her children, J. D. Minton, III (Sandy) and Margaret Banks (David); her son-in-law Cooper Knowles; and her sister Mary Traylor (Jack). She is also survived by six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Rhone Memorial Chapel (3900 S State Hwy 19, Palestine, TX 75801). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, August 19th 2025 at the Neches Cemetery.
