With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sharon Elrod of Palestine, Texas, who passed away on August 4, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Patrick Devine and Violet Devine of St. Joseph, MI.; her spouse W. G. Elrod; her children, Tracie Hooper, Karen Davison, Michael Elrod and Jennifer Elrod; her friend Brenda DeWitt; her daughter-in-law Amy Elrod; and her friend Joy Salinas. She was also cherished by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

“Sharon and I were best friends a long time ago when she was living in Owosso, Michigan. We always remained best friends even tho life gets so busy. She went to nursing school after high school and of course met the love of her life Elrod. What a great nurse she must have been with her compassion. Our common passion was horses.
