He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Roy Cahill Sr. and Mildred "Missy" Cahill; and his sister Sally Smith. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ellen Cahill of Amarillo, TX; his children, James Cahill of Amarillo, TX and Cindy Johnson of Amarillo, TX; his stepchildren, Sheri Hurst (Terry) of Idalou, TX, Cindy Aycock (Brad) of Lorenzo, TX and Russell Bounds (Kay) of Slaton, TX; his brother John Cahill of Kilgore, TX; and his brother-in-law Jack Smith. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Roy served as treasurer of both the Chaves County Development Foundation and the Roswell Chamber of Commerce, and as commissioner on the City of Roswell Planning Commission.
