Though Diane LaVerne Cathy may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Diane LaVerne Cathy touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Billy Gene Cathy and Gertrude Barns; and her son Joseph Hensley. She is survived by: her husband Jose Garza; her children, John Hensley (Eileen), Cindy Silvas (Alfred) and Alice DeLaGarza (Johnny); her daughter-in-law Patricia Hensley; and her sisters, Judy Cathy and Shelia Fishburn (Dale). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and many other family members and countless friends.
A memorial service was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home (1304 N Cleveland St, Dayton, TX 77535).
