She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Mack Moon and Velma Shepard Moon; her husband Melvin Gene Burkett; her brothers, Vernon Gene Moon (Gerry), Charles David Moon (Emma) and T. J. Moon (Clara); and her son Kent Douglas Burkett.
She is survived by: her son Bret Howard Burkett (Linda Burkett) of Porter, Texas; her daughter-in-law Brandy Burkett of Pearland, Texas; her grandchildren, Daniel, Kaitlynn, Jordan and Skyler Burkett; and her siblings, Carol Staten (Robert) of Angleton, Texas and Donald Moon of Fischer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Taylor Bros. Funeral Home (2313 Avenue I, Bay City, TX 77404). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
