He was predeceased by : his parents, Vergil Stovall and Millie Ann Sanders Chappell; and his sons, Tony Sanders and Gordon Sanders. He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Ferguson of Pecan Gap; his daughters, Michelle Sanders of Detroit, MI, Barbara Barnes (Willie) of Montgomery, AL, Ingrid Sanders of Boston, Mass and Iola Sanders of Florida; and his siblings, Daisey Floyd (McKinley) of Shorter, AL, Willie Chappell of Shorter, AL and Jimmy Sanders of Boston, Mass..
