He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Pando Melendez and Graciela Rodriguez Melendez. He is survived by: his wife Rosa Valles Melendez; his children, Joanna Lozano (Jeremiah), Ruby Chavez (Fernando), Jaime Melendez Jr. (Lizzy) and Abel Melendez (Presley); his siblings, Nora Medina, Arcelia Melendez, Osvaldo Melendez and Mario Melendez; and his nephews, Rogelio Ramos, Uriel Gardea and Antonio Gardea. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Pecos Funeral Home (607 W 3rd St, Pecos, TX 79772). A rosary will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church (620 E 4th St, Pecos, TX 79772).
