He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Tuarino Melendez and Santos Martinez; his wife Adela Melendez; and his children, Nora Elia Gonzalez (David Gonzalez), Noelia Melendez (Rolando Ybarra), Veronica Melendez (Pedro Dominguez), Omar Melendez, Beatrice, Melendez Zamorano (Guadalupe Zamorano) and Arturo Melendez. He was also cherished by his 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A prayer will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Lord and I Funeral Home (1005 E Expressway 83, Penitas, TX 78576). A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lord and I Cemetery (1005 E Expressway 83, Penitas, TX 78576).
