She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Lee Assink and Nettie Assink (Christians); her son Nathaniel; and her sister Carmen Settles. She is survived by: her husband Russell Straayer; her daughter Valerie; her grandchildren, Reagan, Elise, Rowan and Tabitha; and her sisters, Karen, Avis and Christie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Presbyterian Church (4300 W Park Blvd, Plano, TX 75093).
