He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis M. Sherer Sr. and Gertrude B. Sherer. He is survived by: his wife Stella; his children, Bill (Shira), Bob (Angela), Karen (Bobby Rayne) and Laurie (Jason Finkenbiner); his grandchildren, Lewis, Joseph, Lauren (Merrick), Christine, Lukas, Elliot and Blake; his sister Anne Jackson; and his brothers-in-law, Mike Davis (Kay) and Hugh Ferguson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
