Valerie Perkins Shurbet Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Valerie Perkins Shurbet of Pleasanton, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 4, 2025 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurine Perkins and Frank Perkins Sr.; her brother Frank Perkins Jr.; her in-laws, Jimmy and Margaret Shurbet; and her niece Amy Wallace.

She is survived by: her husband Mark Shurbet; her children, Jack Andrew Bryan (Theresa), Kasey O'Neal (Shane) and Kathryn Thompson (Richard); her grandchildren, Andrew Bryan (Kendra), Brandon O'Neal, Laynie Bryan, Madison O'Neal, Addison O'Neal, Violet Shurbet, Jayce Bryan and Eleanor Thompson; her great grandchild Harper Bryan; and her siblings, Stephanie Domke (Warren), Jeanene Reese, Timothy Perkins (Jody), Linda Perkins, Rick Shurbet (Diane), Carla Wallace (Danny), Susan Cearley (Ken) and Andi Estes (Monte). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hurley Funeral Home (118 W Oaklawn Rd, Pleasanton, TX 78064). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Pleasanton Church of Christ (1003 N Main St, Pleasanton, TX 78064). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Sunshine Community Cemetery (2501 Rodd Field Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78414).
