He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Martinez Regalado and Francisca Sandoval; and his siblings, Jose Martinez, Vanessa Martinez and Celene Covarrubia.
He is survived by: his wife Eduarda Aguilar; his children, Juan Martinez Jr., Johnathan Aguilar and Rosaria Martinez; his daughter-in-law Blanca; and his brother Armando Martinez. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
