He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Koliba Sr. and Mary Hartl Koliba; and his granddaughter Katie Koliba. He is survived by : his children, Robin Harkey (Justin), Brian Koliba (Jennifer), Russell Koliba (Tiffany) and Kurt Koliba (Laura); his siblings, Ellen Kirby, Joyce Wheeler (Sonny), Cynthia "Cookie" Koliba and Bob Koliba (Barbara); and his grandchildren, Kyle, Caleb, Mason, McKenzie, Travis, Dylan, Madylin Koliba, Morgan and Levi Harkey.

Robert Janik wrote a sympathy message

“We are so sorry for your loss. Pete was a fun person to be around. I can still remember Uncle Joe taking Pete and I fishing, had a good time till the norther blew in. Also remember going to the ice cream shop and eating banana splits. He was truly a good person. Bobby and Jody Janik”
