It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emmett Eugene Harper Jr. of Port Neches, Texas, born in Port Arthur, Texas, who passed away on May 4, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Emmett "Mike" Harper and Vivian Harper; his brother Billy Wayne Harper; his wife Millie Ruth Harper; his sons, Michael Eugene Harper and Mark Wayne Harper; and his daughter-in-law Josie Harper.

He is survived by : his son Ricky Dale Harper; his grandchildren, Brandon Harper (Lisa D.), Shawn Harper, Shayna Harper (Pete Roche), Halasi Matt (Colton), Makaley Halliburton (Dillan), Johnika Seals (Louis), John Paul Sanders (Brittney) and Joshua Sanders (Felicia); his great grandchild Logan; his grandchildren, Cason, Gavin, Cohen, Elliot, Zachary, Alex, Hayden, Jayden, Jillian, Claire, Jordan, Grayson, Valerie and James; and his daughter-in-law Lisa M. Harper (Gary King). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hillcrest Baptist Church-Nederland (3324 Park Dr, Nederland, TX 77627). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Hillcrest Baptist Church (3324 Park Dr, Nederland, TX 77627). A burial was held on Thursday, May 9th 2024 at the Memory Gardens of Jefferson County (3098 Hwy 69 N, Nederland, TX 77627).
