Murphy Joseph Abshire Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Murphy Joseph Abshire of Port Neches, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 15, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Darwood Abshire and Dorothy Hanks Abshire; and his sister Janet Levy. He is survived by: his wife Julie Abshire of Port Neches; his children, Jared Abshire (Sarah) and Megan Mantas (Alexi); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Abshire, Vivienne Abshire, Lennon Abshire, Michael Mantas and Elizabeth Mantas; and his siblings, Ray Abshire (Mikie), Renola Walston (Ronnie), Loretta Abshire, Dennis Abshire (Denise), Darlene Barden (Michael) and Angie Hebert (Jamie). He is also survived by other loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Levingston Funeral Home - Port Neches (2001 Nall St, Port Neches, TX 77651). A rosary was held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Melancon Levingston (2001 Nall St, Port Neches, TX 77651). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church (2006 Nall St, Port Neches, TX 77651).
